How to play online poker?
Start

Normally, poker games contain an initial forced bet: the big blind and the small blind. These bets form the starting pot of any poker hand. The pot will then increase as each player's bet increases.
Dealing the cards and betting rounds

After the first cards have been dealt, the players call clockwise around the table one after the other.

When it is the player's turn, they can usually do one of the following:
Poker actions
Check
Means to stay in the game without having to put a bet in the pot. This action is only possible if there's no raise on the turn.
Betting
Is the action of placing chips in the pot. The bet can be equal to or greater than the previous player's bet.
Fold
This is the action of folding and giving up the current hand.
Call
Matching the highest bet placed by another player.
Raise
Matching the highest bet AND adding an additional bet. Other players have the option of folding, calling or also raising.
All online poker games have different stages :

- Preflop: when the player gets the cards in his hand.

- Flop: when the first three cards are dealt to the table.

- Turn: the fourth card dealt.

- River: is the fifth and final card.

At each stage, players can raise, follow or fold. The player who wins the game is the one with the best hand by combining one or two of his cards with the cards on the table (example of Texas Hold'em). In Omaha or Omaha Hi-Lo, the player must use two of the four cards received.

- The Showdown: For the players who followed, the showdown consists of showing their cards, which then determine the winner of the game.
End of the game

In general, the winner of any poker hand is the player who has the best hand when all the cards are revealed at the end of the hand (this is called the 'showdown'). The winner can also be the player who makes the last bet that is not called by the other players. The player then wins, without proceeding to the showdown. In short, the winner is the one who wins the game with the best hand or if all other players don't call and fold.

Not sure if a straight beats a three of a kind? Don't know what a four of a kind is? You can find all the information you need to play online poker on the hand rankings below. Starting from the top, you'll find the strongest hands in order up to the weakest hand which is a simple high card.
What is the difference between Fixed Limit and Pot Limit in online poker?
The only difference between No Limit, Limit and Pot Limit is the betting structure. While the No Limit variant allows you to go all-in every time it's your turn to play, Limit and Pot Limit games only allow you to bet a certain amount. Always remember that even if it's a small difference, it makes a significant difference.
What are Table Stakes and All-in Poker?
On our site, games are played according to stakes. Specifically, only the chips that were in play at the start of the hand can be used.

If a player does not have enough chips to call, he can go all-in. He will then claim the pot up to the amount of his bet. All subsequent action with other players takes place in a side pot, which the all-in player does not have access to. If more than one player goes all-in during a hand, there can be more than one side pot.
